Ashley Godwin

ag-0513 2From May 2017 to May 2019, Ashley was a weekend anchor, reporter and multimedia journalist for KSNF in Joplin, Missouri. She moved to the Show-Me State where she covered news in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

A typical weekday required Ashley to turn at least three stories of news content for KSNF and its sister station KODE. Stories included creating one package, one VOSOT, and either another VOSOT, VO, or graphic for the 5, 6 and 10 o’ clock shows. Normally, she shot, edited, and wrote all stories herself, but she also had the ability to use a photographer when available.

When she worked on the weekends, she compiled story ideas, shot, edited, and wrote stories. She then produced and anchored the shows.

Before moving to Joplin, Ashley graduated Cum Laude from the University of Central Arkansas with honors. During her senior year, she worked for the news station on campus, News 6, as the News Director. She also interned for KATV during the summer of 2016 in Little Rock, AR where she first fell in love with the idea of being a journalist.

Broadcast journalism is no longer a straight-line industry; it is an ever-changing, multimedia platform to get the latest information to the public. It requires hard work, dedication, and a passion to always be on the lookout for new stories. Ashley enjoys the energy journalism brings, and the people that she meets along the way.
